• Story
The story begins in a forest near the village of Riders. Three young friends—the hero, Lilia, and Cheval—stumble upon a shining egg.

The trio perform a playful imitation of the Rite of Kinship, only to be shocked when it actually succeeds!

The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, a flying wyvern also known as “the King of the Skies.” The trio affectionately name him “Ratha,” and take him back to the village.

Days later, without warning, the village is beset upon by a monster infected by “the Black Blight.” They manage to drive it away, but not before it devastates the town—and leaves indelible scars in the hearts of Cheval and Lilia.

A year passes...

The hero receives a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief and officially becomes a Rider. Cheval and Lilia both leave the village, each on their own path. The hero, though separated now from childhood friends, partners up with the cheerful Navirou, and embarks upon a new adventure into the world of hunters.

A story of friendship and triumph await you—ride on into the world of Monster Hunter Stories!

I'd heard about the MH series before but ultimately decided to leave it alone. Fast-paced combat is difficult for me thanks to a gimpy arm, and I always found myself wishing I could fight alongside these beautiful beasties rather than just slaughtering them. This game solves both of those issues, and I couldn't be more excited! I will definitely be buying the full game once I'm done with this demo. The only gripe I have is the need for an internet connection. Once I understand, but requiring one every time I open the game—and force closing if it's in the background for too long—is really frustrating and just limits where I can enjoy playing the game.

Smooth, clear, graphics. Great soundtrack and fun battle system. This is my first time ever playing a Monster Hunter game. While I am new to the series and this game, the game quickly drew me in after a couple hours of gameplay. This demo is pretty generous, letting you play the first 3-6 hours of the game for free with no ads or monetization. Once you've completed it, you can transfer your save or even just continue playing without story progression.

looks like it has good potential to be a very fun game. the major limiting factor for me has been the limitee autosaving and ease at which it forces you ti reload the game if it needs to be minimized. Mobile games need to be very flexible with how you play. they should pause automatically when minimised, and run in the background well. if it does close you shouldn't lose progress. i had to replay some of the opening story gameplay literally 6 or 7 times because i kept having to stop playing.
