About this game

Official app of the board game by Mike Fitzgerald and Eagle-Gryphon Games.

American baseball was on its last legs as a spectator sport. Football had become the predominant national pastime — that is until the year 2032, the year baseball decided to revolutionize the game and regain the throne!

Baseball Highlights: 2045 is like watching TV highlights of baseball games, with the gameplay being full of theme and without bogging down. In this quick and interactive game, players build their teams as they play, combining both front-office strategy and baseball tactics.

Features:
60 Unique Free Agents and four 15-man starting teams
Solitaire or 2-Player Online or Hot Seat.
Two solitaire modes supported - the challenging standard solo mode from the board game with 5 difficulty levels OR play a 2-Player style game against the CPU Stengel AI
Interactive Spring Training tutorials to get you playing quickly
Integrated rulebook
Beautiful artwork from the original game
Autosave and Resume Last Game

Important:
Requires Android 4.1+. Will not work on older devices.

Note: If your tablet/phone has 512M of RAM, the game will run but if your device sleeps or you attempt to multitask it will likely restart. You can then resume your last game, simply by pushing the Resume button from the front page. If your device has 1G+ of RAM, then multitasking and sleeping should not cause the game to restart.

One problem is the game doesn't support newer screen sizes very well. I have a very large phone (6.8) and because the aspect ratio is skewed, the cards become too small to see. Which pretty much makes the game unplayable on a large phone. The good enough that I want to manage a team over full season and possibly several. As it stands it's decent.

I bought this app to play with my friends, as we love the board game version. However it appears that there is not an option for online play, even though there is a button for it. I also purchased the expansion pack #1 and it offered a hard difficulty A.I. at first and now I can't find that option. I would like to play the hard A.I. if you do not have an online version. Please assist. Edit - Also, I can't seem to get it to sync over to my tablet. I open the playstore and find the app but it wants me to buy it a 2nd time.

When playing against the AI, there are only 2 levels at the moment. For a more difficult challenge you can play the solo system from the boardgame and that will give you 5 skill levels to choose from. On-line play is definitely in there and is working. Get in touch with me at peterk@look.ca so we can take a look at your issue more closely.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact. Baseball highlights is a great card game , beautifully designed, whose digital version is competent and serviceable, but nothing more. The good AI and online functionality allows to warm up to the game and play with friends , great for trying out the game before a physical purchase. The lack of polish on the appearance, and the lack progression are what keep two stars away from this app. I recommend .

What's new

Bugfix - Online games were getting blocked if they went to very long extra innings and all of the players cards cycled.
Bugfix - 25% of solo games vs the AI were corrupted at start-up due to AI not being assigned a team.
Bugfix - In all play modes except 2 player online, the player decks were not getting their initial shuffle at the start of game.
