Good for basic notifications only. Needs to have ability to set multiple alarms. I want to be notified of lesser magnitude quakes in my area and greater worldwide. Also a setting for specific radius for "near me". I don't need to know of every 3.0 in California but would be interested in them in the Puget Sound area. Tried the Pro version but same choices. Otherwise, good basic info app.

Leaving GPS on drains batteries. Needs to remember last location of the phone. Most people stay in a 10 to 50 mile radius of their homes/work. That isn't good for immediate reporting, you can turn off that function, but would allow people to get info for recent quakes. Needs to better filter out earthquakes not near me. It is not easy to 'look up' possible quakes. USGS has a good option, could be an idea to start. Great concept. I can't use it because I won't leave in my Loc function.

Thank you for the feedback. The app does not keep the GPS enabled at all times, it uses a Google service which only periodically checks your location using a more battery efficient system than regular GPS. The battery usage should be reasonably low. I will look into trying to reduce it further and also to make it easier to filter out earthquakes.

This app is ok, but limited. It would be better if you could select a distance (for example, 100 mile radius) from a fixed location (not my phone's location). Or if the information tabs at least included the distance. This wouldn't be extremely difficult, as they know the GPS location of each quake, so all they need is the GPS location of your target. That information is typically available either on your phone, or can be found in many map programs.

You can select a distance to be used for notifications by setting 'Notification Type' to 'Within Distance'. In addition, the app does show the distance away when you go to the detail screen for an earthquake (assuming the app has the location permission). If it isn't doing this, feel free to use the 'Contact support' button in the Settings screen.
