The app worked quite well with slides that had plenty of natural light but didn't work with slides that included shadows or poorer light. I paid for a month's subscription but won't be extending. The Kodak app, which is free, worked much better, but still not great. A good idea, but probably requires something that is more fit for purpose for useful results.

Thank you for the feedback. Try to hold the slide 2 inches (5 cm) away from the computer screen so that there is no transfer onto the scan. Please reach out to support@photomyne.com so we can assist on how to get the best scanning results.

I used two methods to transfer slides to my computer. This app and a device that hooks directly to the computer but only works on Windows XP. The older device always gave clear photos but made many of them way too bright. This app usually produced good colors and focus. However, the app chooses what part of the photo to focus on, despite the instructions which claim you can chose, so some slides turn out a bit blurry no matter what distance you use. A few times it cropped the photos weird.

Thank you for reaching out.Try to hold the slide 5 cm away from the computer screen so that there is no transfer onto the scan. There is an option within the app to crop your scans manually. Click on the cropping icon on the bottom of the screen .Please reach out to support@photomyne.com so we can assist on how to get the best scanning results.

I inherited my Dad's 35mm slide collection and wanted to digitize them to share with family members. I did not relish the idea of spending big money sending them to an outside company. I found this app and tried scanning a few slides. It works! I found the best way to do this was to buy a "Helping Hand" tool that holds the slide steady in front of a blank Word screen on my laptop. I then scanned the slide quickly and with ease. The app then color corrects and crops the picture.
