About this app

The SyncUP KIDS Watch and SyncUP KIDS App are the perfect combination to help parents stay connected and close to their kids, even when apart. The SyncUP KIDS App allows Parents/Guardians to invite family to share their phone locations, send and receive SOS alerts, and connect SyncUP KIDS Watches to be aware of their location, add parent-approved contacts, and assign tasks.

Stay Connected
• Kids can call and text with an on-screen keyboard and send video/voice messages to unlimited guardian-approved contacts—no spam, no wrong numbers. Know where your kids are with real-time secure location tracking and virtual boundary alerts.
• You can invite family and friends to share their phone or Kids Watch locations.

Stay Safe
• Have comfort knowing your child can alert their designated emergency contacts with the touch of the Help button or quickly reach 911.
• Manage contacts, monitor calls, and message logs to ensure only trusted people are in touch with your child.

Stay on Track
• Keep kids on track with tasks, reminders, rewards, and fun features like alarm, timer, and stopwatch.
• Enable School Mode to quiet notifications and limit access to certain features so your child can focus.

Stay Entertained
• The watch includes a 5MP camera to snap pictures and a step counter for parents to set goals and see steps.
• Designed for kids with a water-resistant IP68 rating and a long-lasting battery for all-day use.
• Choose a character or watch a theme and play games.

Not sure exactly which device we have connected, but my biggest qualm about the app in particular is the lack of privacy it has. There is no password or pin to enter it, so if my phone is ever lost or taken by someone and the phone security compromised, they can easily enter the app and find where my son's watch is, and mess with everything. I'm also not very satisfied with how old the map data is or how inaccurate the location data is. These are enough to make me reconsider T Mobile over the V.

T-Mobile takes privacy seriously. By default, the SyncUP KIDS App requires a username and password to enter. You may have turned on the “Stay logged in” toggle at login, which logs you in automatically. To return to the default login experience, please uninstall and reinstall the app. If you have more feedback, email skw-feedback@t-mobile.com.

Everytime I really want to use the app, it doesn't function as expected. I tried checking my son's location during Halloween and it kept failing to turn on the faster updates; it only showed the last location which was like an hour or so behind. Now, his watch is missing, so I tried again, and the entir app fails with an error: "all core API failing". Is your infrastructure not built for scale? Do you test your before deploying? I can't imagine how I would feel if something really bad happens

Hi Howard, thank you for sharing, and we apologize for any possible inconvenience and trouble. We had an intermittent service outage impacting SyncUP KIDS on 1/30, which has been resolved. If you still experience these issues, please shake your phone and submit a bug report. It will give us all we need to investigate the root cause. Thank you.

Update: must still be experiencing "intermittent outages" since this app still never works right. 🙄 OG: This app crashes frequently and signs both my fiance and I out and we have to re-sync all our kids watches. The whole point was to be able to keep an eye on them as they explore independence, but that's awful hard to do when I regularly cannot connect to the app or the app can't connect to the watches. Disappointing.
